PLAY, LIVE, GIVE
At Harrah’s Resort SoCal, the Caesars code of commitment governs the conduct of our business.
Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, volunteers across the globe people take time, money and energy to give back in generous ways.
This year, on December 3, Funner, CA teammates donned their purple shirts and spread out across San Diego county to give back to the community we all love. This year marked the fifth Giving Tuesday Harrah’s Resort SoCal organized an army of activists, with 200 teammates volunteering at 11 locations.
Even Mayor Riggle got in on the action. He took a break from leading the Fun Brigade in Funner, CA, swapped his noble robe for an All-in 4 Change T-shirt and got his hands dirty—literally.
A veteran of 22 years in the Marine Corps, our glorious mayor isn’t afraid of hard work. On Giving Tuesday he was up before the sun and got into the cleaning trenches, dusting and polishing his way through the USS Midway Museum. And doing it all with a smile.
All day Harrah’s Resort SoCal teammates could be seen preparing meals, building homes, assembling bikes, sorting food and caring for with service dogs. The list of charities the team helped included:
Armed Services YMCA
Habitat for Humanity
San Diego Food Bank
Rady Children’s Hospital
San Diego Blood Bank
Kitchens for Good
Interfaith Community Services
