Giving Tuesday means bringing Funner to the community, so on November 28, hundreds of Harrah’s Resort SoCal team members donned their purple shirts and went all in on giving back.
The Rincon Fire Department, alongside team members from Harrah’s Resort SoCal and members of the community, honored the bravery of the 343 New York fire fighters who gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11. The group participated in the second annual 9/11 Stair Climb, tackling the 22 flights of stairs in the North Tower Resort Tower five times, for a total of 110 stories – equal to the number of flights in the former World Trade Center towers. In solidarity with the fallen first responders, all members of the Rincon Fire Department made the climb in full gear. Thank you to all who participated in this memorable and moving event.
Team members at Harrah’s Resort SoCal go all-in on giving back and this April that included a special day of donating to the San Diego Blood Bank. Part of the resort’s All-in 4 Change community give-back efforts, 35 team members donated blood in a time when blood banks need it most. The San Diego Blood Bank and Harrah’s Resort Southern California have been close partners for over 15 years and the Resort annually hosts up to four blood drives per year. Thank you to everyone who gave for a good cause!
Harrah’s Resort SoCal Team Members geared up and got their hands dirty for a great cause at the Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build! The team worked hand-in-hand with the Habitat for Humanity crew to raise walls, paint trim, stain wood and add special touches to a home that will go to a family in need in San Diego County.
Harrah’s Resort SoCal Team Members were a guiding light in the community on November 5. In partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, over 30 Funner, CA Team Members lit up Waterfront Park in Downtown San Diego with red, white and golden lanterns alongside other supporters during this year’s Light the Night event. This annual walk is a special tribute to friends and family members with leukemia and lymphoma in our community.
For the sixth year, the team at Harrah’s Resort SoCal welcomed a group of fighters for a special spa day. In honor of breast cancer awareness month, The Spa at Harrah’s partnered with Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center and hosted breast cancer survivors on October 28 for a day of pampering and well-deserved relaxation.
